We are very pleased to announce that two IE alumnae, Maya Helbaoui (International MBA 2012) and Elisabet de los Pinos (International MBA 2002), have been chosen among the first 100 AACSB Influential Leaders who are making an impact in the world through their business acumen, leadership, or entrepreneurial success.
22 of the 100 leaders selected were women, and we are thrilled that both Elisabet and Maya represent strong female figures making an impact in business and society.
Based in Beirut, Maya Helbaoui is Communications Head at pharmaceutical company Hoffmann- La Roche and has launched campaigns such as National Hepatitis B&C Awareness and National Breast Cancer Awareness.
Elisabet de los Pinos is the founder & CEO at Aura, a biotechnology company developing a new class of therapies to target and selectively destroy cancer cells.
Based in Cambridge, MA, the company’s novel viral-like particle technology is developed in partnership with the National Cancer Institute.
“Maya and Elisabet are two examples of the extraordinary people that make up the IE Alumni community,” said Julia Sanchez, head of IE Global Alumni Relations. “Both Maya and Elisabet’s work exemplifies the global focus and entrepreneurial spirit that is at the core of IE’s values and we are incredibly proud that AACSB has chosen them for the Influential Leaders list.”
Thomas R. Robinson, president and chief executive officer of AACSB International, commented, “If told, the success stories of all business school graduates would fill unmeasurable volumes. AACSB is honored to celebrate Maya Helbaoui and Elisabet de los Pinos—and the collective 100 Influential Leaders—as a representation of how business school alumni have positively influenced society, as well as the management education industry’s, past, present, and promising future.”
