We’ve been away for a while, but we are now back with our IE North America blog! It is with immense happiness that I announce this space is now officially reopened for closer communication with our candidates, companies, alumni and all our stakeholders in North America. Our representatives in different locations across the region (Miami, New York and Los Angeles) and also from Madrid will be working hard to bring you the latest information on IE, and particularly, on the activities being held by the school in the US, Canada and the Caribbean.
As you may know, Americans have been the #1 international nationality at the IE Campus in Madrid for several years now. Every year several hundred United States nationals and residents cross the Atlantic Ocean to immerse themselves in an exciting and life changing professional, educational and, ultimately, personal experience. The same can be said for our Canadian students. Over the past decades, Canadians have chosen IE as one of their preferred schools when it comes to studying abroad. Puerto Ricans, Jamaicans and residents of other Caribbean islands have also found in IE what they are looking for when it comes to getting a degree: a diverse, multicultural and highly innovative environment.
In terms of geographic location, there is no question that Europe is a natural destination for North Americans looking for a more diverse and rich education experience, regardless if it is at an undergraduate or graduate level. Within Europe, Spain is the ideal destination: it is a safe country, with great climate, rich history, exciting life-style, superb gastronomy and one of the leading global economies. It is also recognized by its efforts to develop clean and environmentally friendly energy options. There´s no city in Spain like Madrid, its multicultural and diverse capital, strategically located in the heart of the Iberian Peninsula.
Recognized as one of the leading management institutions worldwide, and one of the top three business schools in Europe, IE has been forefront in the minds of students and companies in the US and Canada and the Caribbean. Due to our close ties and links to top companies in the region our students are constantly being sought by recruiters and headhunters from all industries.
IE University undergraduate and graduate programs are also gaining a lot of attention. As the only English-speaking university in Southern Europe, it has become the preferred option for young and bright millennials on their mission to make this a better world.
Our alumni in the region have also played an important role in building IE´s reputation. Last year, in November, hundreds of alumni from all over North America gathered in Miami for a weekend of conferences, social gatherings and networking sessions. It was a milestone in IE´s history in North America to have so many alumni from different parts of the world sharing the same ideals and supporting each other in their personal and professional mission.
As a final note, I’d like you to know that this is an open channel and that we want to hear from you. Suggestions, critiques and contributions are more than welcome. Feel free to write to us with any ideas you may have to make this space the best for all of us.
